The SMERT Special Needs Cobot with Bionic Hand brings the LinkerBot LinkerHand L20 adaptive dexterous hand, on-device computer vision and voice control into the daily routines of elderly people and people with disabilities β at home or in care facilities.
Families and facilities can no longer find enough trained carers. Personal hygiene β the most intimate and time-consuming task β is the first routine to suffer. Our cobot restores it, with dignity and consistency.

A bionic hand with the reach, precision and softness required for hygiene routines. The LinkerHand L20 (21 DoF: 16 active + 15 passive, linkage transmission) replaces rigid grippers with human-like manipulation of soft objects: sponges, cloths, cups, medication and toothbrushes.

LinkerBot is the component supplier. The ordered lab hands require SMERT mechanical, software and safety integration before physical care-task validation.
Your cobot ships with the skills you activate at install. During the pre-install site survey our integration team confirms which scenarios can proceed for your specific setup β because eligibility depends on safety standards, available space, furniture layout, free-standing-cell clearance, tooling, privacy controls and the person's priorities. Wet-care remains gated, manikin-only R&D. Approved dry scenarios use local safety controls and human sign-off.
A gated manikin-only research scenario using protected tools and disposable barriers; not a current care capability.
A complete-or-nothing manikin scenario for studying privacy, protected tooling and caregiver hand-back.
Tooth brushing, denture care, face wash and moisturizing with sub-mm precision.
Hair combing, shaving assistance, nail file β every skill adapted to the person's rhythm.
Nurse Rose can issue reminders and request an approved, pre-authorized item handover; no dose selection or clinical verification.
Cup and spoon handling with tremor-safe motion; pauses on cough or turn detection.
Assisted range-of-motion, gentle stretches and light-resistance sessions to keep bed-bound patients muscularly awake.
Chess, cards, memory games, guided philosophy/language sessions, storytelling and music β the mind stays sharp.
Every SMERT Cobot skill is available on a monthly subscription. Turn skills on or off from your dashboard β no hardware change, no engineer visit, no waiting. New skills are released regularly and pushed OTA to your cobot.

LIVE"Hi love, I'm Rose. Tell me what you need β and I'll ask the arm to help."
What she does
Connected to the Cobot arm
Rose isn't just talk. Every request she hears is sent as an intent to the SMERT arm over MQTT/HTTP. The arm executes it.
ποΈ Meet Nurse Rose β the voice assistant inside the Cobot. Talk to her now (60-second demo).

Immobility is the silent killer for elderly and disabled patients β muscle mass drops within days. The SMERT Cobot runs daily assisted gymnastics right at the bedside: gentle stretches, joint mobilisation and light resistance sessions, personalised to each patient and voice-coached in their own language.
Assisted range-of-motion cycles
Shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle mobilisation β force-limited joints, ISO/TS 15066 compliant.
Muscle activation & light resistance
Progressive sessions that keep bed-bound patients muscularly awake and prevent contractures.
Voice-coached, patient-paced
Choose any voice β or clone your own. Counts reps, cues breathing, pauses instantly on command.
Every session logged
Duration, range achieved and patient response push to the family app and care-home dashboard.

From chess, cards, Risk and Monopoly to guided conversations on philosophy, physics and literature β the SMERT Cobot adapts difficulty in real time to keep every user challenged, entertained and connected.
Board & card games
Chess, checkers, Risk, Monopoly, poker, mahjong β the bionic hand moves pieces and adapts to any skill level.
Cognitive workouts
Memory, logic and trivia across 5 difficulty levels β clinically-inspired sessions to slow cognitive decline.
Companion learning
Talk philosophy, physics, literature or a new language β the on-board LLM turns downtime into private tutoring.
Story & music time
Read-aloud sessions, curated playlists and guided reminiscence for calmer evenings and better sleep.
Personal hygiene is where trust is won or lost. Every layer of the SMERT cobot β mechanical, electronic, software β is designed around dignity and privacy first, efficiency second.

Staged assurance
Site-specific safety assessment and acceptance before any commissioned workflow.
SMERT provides 24/7 online assistance and a global technician network across APAC, Europe and the Americas. Site monitoring, alerts and permitted remote diagnostics are configured per installation; SMERT does not replace local emergency services.
Permissioned diagnostics
Authorized technicians review configured telemetry and logs; remote joint takeover is not a default care function.
Real-time malfunction alarms
Torque, sensor, vision, network and battery anomalies escalate the moment they cross threshold.
Human escalation
Configured alerts notify the designated site or family contact; local emergency procedures remain authoritative.
Consent-first observation
Local prototypes can create configured, neutral event flags; no identity, diagnosis or clinical certainty is inferred.
Stop & safe-park target
A detected anomaly stops the task and requests the defined safe state; <200 ms remains a validation target.
Configured event log
Permitted alerts, task outcomes and authorized support actions are timestamped under the site's retention settings.
