SMERT R&D Lab · Hong Kong

    R&D Lab Testing

We build our advanced AI robotic system in the open. This page lists the tests we run in the lab — starting with the initial setup, followed by sector-specific tests for healthcare, PCB testing and more. Every step is filmed and published.

    Phase 1 — Initial setup

Bringing the system online on the bench: hands, sensing, cameras, voice and the digital twin.

Dexterous hand bring-up (left + right), every joint identifiedTested
Live fingertip pressure and joint feedbackTested
Digital twin mirroring the real handIn progress
Preset poses: open, fist, thumbs-up, OK, pinchesTested
    Two-hand counting 1–10 and backTested
Voice-controlled tests: announce, spoken “yes”, then moveTested
    Motion-capture glove teleoperationIn progress
Bench cameras, recording and live viewTested

    Phase 2 — Cobot integration

Mounting the hands on the Cobot arms and validating safe, repeatable motion.

    Structural, electrical and emergency-stop checksPlanned
    Arm joint and frame verificationPlanned
Depth camera calibration across the workspacePlanned
    Known-object detection and graspingPlanned
    Two-arm clearance and disturbance recoveryPlanned
    Tool handling and tool changePlanned

Phase 3 — Sector tests (coming next)

After the initial setup passes, each sector gets its own test programme with targets fixed before the runs. Healthcare comes first.

This is an engineering prototype in active development. Results shown are lab results, not certified product claims. Every motion test runs at reduced speed and force with an emergency stop within reach.
